The V & A London is the the worlds largest museum of art as well as design. Founded in 1852. The museum houses a large collection of Italian, Asian, Chinese and Islamic objects. The actual building is designed by several architects. One such part the victorian part has a complicated history. Features of this part include the Ceramic Staircase, designed by Frank Moody. This style was very much taken from the Italian Renaissance period, made from brick and mosaic. Several of the interiors were designed by different designers; such as Philip Webb and William Morris. Their influences included the Elizabethan era. The combination of various time periods, and design era’s make’s the V & A a little haven to escape to from the hustle and bustle of London life. A place where you can sit and take in the grandiose architecture, and find peace.
