London Fashion Week Outfits

About

London Fashion Week, one of the busiest times in my yearly calendar, it is one of the worlds largest celebrations of all things style. I have been lucky enough to attend for my 3rd season in a row. During this time of year I guess I like to reflect on my style and give you an insight into what style ethos I believe in. Perhaps we can start of with a quote from Iris Apfel.

When you don’t dress like everyone else, you don’t have to think like everyone else.
— Iris Apfel

My love for vintage/second hand clothes began when I went to sixth form college. I guess my friends were the ones that introduced me to charity shopping, it really was the cheapest was to look good on a strict budget. From years and years of shopping and experiments my style has been like a rollercoaster of good ,as well as, bad! Trust me I have had some awful style moments.  Moving to Bath, from my home town, which is literally charity shop haven I developed a true passion for vintage finds. It helps when the area you live in is a wealthy area as you can find designer brands for pennies. Of course you can buy all these really lovely clothes but not know how to piece an outfit together, this is the hard part. Knowing what goes with what is hard and takes time, as well as, a little bit of trail n error! This passion for cheap vintage clothes is what I know makes my own style taste unique. I know I can make a £20 outfit look as expensive as Chanel or Louis Vuitton. But that is the art of knowing how to style. We live in a climate of fast fashion, where trends from your social media influencer dominate how you should think and shop. But this is something I choose not to partake it. I choose not to partner with brands during fashion week, I choose mostly not to do sponsored content. This ethos of thinking I found hard to confirm to at first, as you think sometimes to be successful with social media you should be following what everyone else is doing. This is toxic, don’t let social media tell you who to be, be you.

PS I am currently looking out the window, in love with this old ladies style, now she is a true Majestigal…
