My name is Robyn but know by most as Bobby – Artist and Photography living in Melbourne, originally from Scotland, I moved to Melbourne 7 years ago with my sculptor husband Steven aka @den_holm to travel and we have been here ever since. I have been artistic from an early age but only revisited painting a few years ago after focusing on photography since moving to Melbourne. I love textured handmade paper and the discipline involved in minimalist painting. My paintings explore shape and composition with an earthy colour palette.
I am currently inspired by the cinematography and story of ‘The Handmaids Tale’ series and the music and artistic vision of Solange Knowles. Her lyrics, sound and her creative expression has such powerful voice I find it extremely motivating. Picasso always pulls me out of a creative block, photographs of his life pushes me back into creating. Inspiration can come from anything and everything – the basics of everyday life.Social media is an incredible tool. You can connect instantly with someone on the other side of the world and have access to endless inspiration. Instagram has been a fundamental part in the transition for me to work full time for myself, I am thankful every day to be doing what makes me happiest. I know it a rarity in life and something to be extremely grateful for.
